2026 HONOREES & CO-CHAIRS

As The Winter Show prepares for its 2026 edition, deep appreciation is extended to the Fair’s committees and this year’s distinguished honorees. Their leadership, commitment, and generosity play an essential role in shaping a successful season and in advancing the mission of East Side House Settlement, whose work strengthens communities across New York City.

The upcoming program will feature the Fair’s signature occasions — including the Opening Night Party, Young Collectors Night, the Design Luncheon, and the inaugural Jewelry Brunch — each contributing to a dynamic and meaningful celebration of art, design, and philanthropy.

With gratitude to all who support this shared endeavor, The Winter Show looks forward to an inspiring year ahead.

Caroline Kennedy

Caroline Kennedy has demonstrated a life-long commitment to service, education, and cross-cultural understanding. Here in New York City, Kennedy spent ten years as Vice-Chair of the Fund for Public Schools, where she transformed the Fund into a system-wide leader for public school reform and arts education. As United States Ambassador to Japan, Kennedy increased student exchange programs, supported women's economic empowerment, and played a critical role in ongoing reconciliation efforts culminating in President Obama's visit to Hiroshima, the first sitting President to do so. As Ambassador to Australia, she led outreach efforts to indigenous communities and cultural organizations and increased U.S. engagement with younger and diverse immigrant communities.

In 2014, while working with the DreamYard Project in the Bronx, Kennedy founded the International Poetry ExchangeProgram, a program for students in the Bronx, Japan, Korea, Australia, and the Philippines who meet monthly virtually and in-person to share spoken word poetry. She is the author/editor of 11 New York Times best-selling books on law, civics and poetry. A graduate of Harvard University and Columbia Law School, Kennedy has served on numerous non-profit boards including the Carnegie Corporation, the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, and the Harvard Institute of Politics. She is the Honorary President of the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation.

Fernando Garcia

Garcia grew up traveling between the Dominican Republic and northern Spain. He was drawn to the creative field at a very early age, and his love of drawing on napkins led him to study architecture at the prestigious Notre Dame. Upon graduation, Garcia decided to take his love for art and architecture into fashion. When Garcia found the opportunity to meet Oscar de la Renta and show him some “doodles”, he was encouraged by Mr. De la Renta to come to NY for an internship, which quickly led to 6 years ultimately as a principal designer, honing his design and craftsmanship skills. During those years, Garcia played a large role in helping to create some of the most iconic evening wear pieces within the Oscar de la Renta collection.

Laura Kim

As a child in Seoul, South Korea, Kim learned the basics of sewing, patternmaking and sketching as well as obtaining a critical eye for detail from her grandmother, a retired textile manufacturer. When she moved to New York to attend Pratt Institute, her talents were immediately recognized with scholarships from the Council of Fashion Designers (CFDA) and Fashion Group International. As a fashion student, she interned at TSE Cashmere, Donna Karan, and Oscar de la Renta. Mr. De la Renta was impressed with her work and offered her a permanent job. Kim worked with Oscar for twelve years as his design director, where she supervised all aspects of collection development and managed a studio responsible for fabric design, ready to wear, knitwear and accessories.
