Description

This box is carved on three sides with an interlacing of Manaia faces surrounded by duplicate designs spiral whose volutes are held together by short striated bands. On the two small sides two Manaia forming a grip are sculpted in high relief.

The spaces provided in the region of the head, shoulders and arms allowed a link to be slipped in to hang the box. The cover is not carved, confirming the great antiquity (18/19 century) of this object.
