A pair of earthenware planters designed by renowned French design duo, Claude Lalanne (1925-2019) and François Xavier Lalanne (1927-2008), created in collaboration with ceramicist François Gueneau (1937-2015), each of circular form with tapered body and rolled cutaway rim, the body ornamented with a frieze of stylized flora and fauna, including waving grasses and reeds, birds in flight, snakes, butterflies and snails, each glazed in brown and cream, with pale green rim, signed “F.X. Lalanne” and “F. Gueneau”.
