description

Rare décor designed by Percier et Fontaine, architects of Napoleon, and most probably the only wallpaper décor they created.

Wood-block printed , attributed to Jacquemart and Bénard, manufacture, Paris, 1798-1800.

In a neo-classical style, the six Allegory figures are individually enframed by pilasters and draperies, in an array of sepia and green tones- achieving an exquisite palette.

No other full version of these six Allegories is known to exist
